Japanese pianist Yoichi Tajiri returns to Lausanne for a solo piano recital featuring works by Mozart, Chopin, Liszt and Beethoven, continuing his longstanding series of performances in Switzerland.

The programme includes Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 5, Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 2 (“Funeral March”), Liszt’s “Liebestraum” and “La Campanella”, and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 (“Emperor”), arranged for solo piano by Tajiri himself.

The organiser presents the recital as an expression of “makoto”, the Japanese concept of sincerity and genuineness. The concert is also included in the programme of Automne de la culture japonaise 2026.

This straw hat is inspired by Luffy, the main character of ONE PIECE. ONE PIECE is a Japanese manga series created by Eiichiro Oda. It follows Luffy, who wears a straw hat, and his friends as they set out on adventures across the seas. The manga began in 1997 and has since been adapted into anime and films, becoming widely loved around the world. More than 500 million copies have been published worldwide.
The hat also reflects our hope that younger generations will feel welcome to use Mutsumi Network.
And there is another thought behind it. Perhaps each of us, too, is like Luffy in some way, sailing across the vast ocean of our own life. That is another idea we have woven into this straw hat.
