青森県弘前市を舞台に、伝統工芸「津軽塗」と家族の絆を描いた映画『バカ塗りの娘』。
高校卒業後、将来の道を見つけられずにいる美也子は、スーパーで働きながら、津軽塗職人である父の仕事を手伝っています。伝統工芸を取り巻く厳しい現実の中、父は仕事への意欲を失い、家族もそれぞれの道を歩んでいます。それでも漆塗りに惹かれる美也子は、家族や伝統と向き合いながら、自分の進む道を模索していきます。
Set in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, *Tsugaru Lacquer Girl* explores family relationships and the traditional Japanese craft of Tsugaru lacquerware.
After graduating from high school, Miyako struggles to find her direction in life. While working at a supermarket, she helps her father, a skilled lacquerware craftsman. As the traditional industry faces decline, her father loses his motivation and the family grows apart. Yet Miyako feels increasingly drawn to the craft. Through her relationship with her family and the art of lacquerware, she begins to discover her own path.
